• Research in situ There is need for research and support for research in country with focus on background information such as habitat, biology, and threats and to develop Best practice guidelines to tackle any issues with breeding. |
Programme numbers
In December 2019, the Egyptian tortoise EEP had 222 animals in 36 institutions.
Programme highlights
- Issue 107 of Zooquaria is dedicated to chelonians and the ongoing crisis. An article about the origins of Egyptian tortoise and the difficulties surrounding this can be found on page 16.
- EAZA has published its 2021 Annual TAG report.
- There is a closed Amphibian and Reptile TAG Facebook group which staff of EAZA Members working with amphibians and reptiles can join.
